World’s Largest Cutlery Business Asks Quba to Put The Steel Into Online Marketing

Online marketing and website design specialists at Quba have won the brief to plan and execute a campaign aimed at increasing sales for the world-leading cutlery brand Oneida.

The award-winning Sheffield-based digital agency has secured the six-figure, 12-month contract, which includes a pay-per-click Google campaign, the development of targeted email offers and the management of affiliate websites.

The brief also includes a major search engine optimisation (SEO) drive that promises to see the websites of Oneida (www.oneida.co.uk), and sister company Viners (www.viners.co.uk), shoot up the online search rankings when web users look for cutlery-related terms.

David Sealey, account director at Quba, commented: “All members of the team at Quba have worked hard to build a great reputation for delivering online strategies that make digital communications work for our clients.

“We are delighted to be working with such a prestigious brand on a project aimed at increasing sales by over 25 percent in the coming year.”

Founded in New York State in the mid-19th Century, Oneida is now the world’s largest cutlery company, offering a complete range of cutlery products under a range of internationally-famous brand names.

In 2001, the company acquired Viners of Sheffield, which has become famous for its exclusive cutlery designs and has now moved into cookware and dinnerware.

Oneida managing director Mike Weston said that Oneida decided to use one service provider with extensive experience of improving direct consumer sales to obtain a more effective and better related programme of activities.

He said: “Oneida has developed a successful web presence that promotes the various brands and direct sales to consumers, especially through www.viners.co.uk. In order to enhance this presence, we chose Quba to manage our PPC, SEO, affiliates, e-commerce and social network campaigns.

“Quba promised to deliver passion, ideas, support and results. So far they have delivered on all four counts. We are beginning to see increased visitors, more engagement and higher levels of conversion after a relatively short period of partnership.”
