Quba New Media delivered a key-note presentation on customer conversion to 30 manufacturers at this year’s RIBA Consultancy Day. David Sealey gave a 15 minute presentation on why conversion of visitors needs to be the first priority before acquiring more visitors.
“In the days of the dot com boom we were all focussed on winning market share, dominating the sectors web traffic was the aim. People didn’t focus on the conversion point, and that’s where you make money. In the current financial climate businesses need to be focussing on getting return on investment from their online activities.”
David’s comments concluded with three key actions that website managers can take to improve their website:
- Focus on what you want the user to do
- Design with this goal in mind, it’s more than pretty pictures
- Measure your success so that you can improve
